quality design built for manufacturing leaders.

Is your marketing collateral outdated? As your manufacturing business evolves, does your logo or website fail to reflect your growth? At Tandem Studios, we specialize in helping manufacturing companies update their brand identity and digital presence. If you have a vision for the future but aren’t sure how to get there, we can help bridge the gap with strategic, results-driven design and branding solutions.

Over two decades of supporting manufacturing, automotive aftermarket, specialty vehicle, and industrial clients.

Tandem Studios might be small, but we’ve designed creative for multiple industry leaders in the manufacturing and industrial spaces.

Not to name-drop, but we’re totally going to name-drop: Dow, Crest Marine, Plus One Robotics, HME Ahrens-Fox, Metpar, Steel Warehouse, Bekum America, Melling Engine Parts, and more.

Why do these folks work with Tandem? It’s simple: responsiveness, technical understanding, ease of communication, and we just plain get it. No need to explain things over and over again, no need to show us what your ideal customer is looking for. Because you don’t have time to wait when the market is rapidly changing and evolving.

speed (boating) to market.

When Crest Marine approached us, they were looking for design support for their catalog, a critical sales tool that highlighted their line of luxury pontoon boat models. The design for previous years’ catalogs had grown stale, and they wanted to jump-start their refreshed marketing approach with a new design direction.

Oh, and they needed it fast, like, SUPER FAST. We only had a couple of short months to develop the design for this 82-page monster, and get everything approved and printed in time for their annual dealer sales conference.

Crest never, in decades of business, had the catalog done in time, but we made the deadline, on-time and under budget. Oh, and at the same time, we also produced multiple videos for the event, being told afterward that the catalog and the videos were the best they’d ever had.

A success that was definitely worth some time at the lake.

get fired up about branding.

Based in Wyoming, Michigan, HME-Ahrens Fox has been building high-quality emergency response apparatus since 1910.

Their collateral had lost its spark—it felt outdated and no longer packed the punch needed to connect with the heroes who save lives every day. They wanted something bold, something as tough and relentless as the fire trucks they were building.

We were called in to develop a visual identity that matched the grit and strength of their audience—firefighters and emergency responders, the toughest of the tough.

After analyzing what hit the mark and what missed, we crafted a new creative identity that blazes through every medium—from print ads and spec sheets to billboards and product catalogs—delivering the same impact firefighters demand from their equipment.

cutting edge design for a cutting edge grinder.

Star Cutter Company originally engineered their first CNC machine tool for form grinding to support their hob manufacturing facility. From there, the engineering team expanded designs and introduced the ATG, Star’s first 5-Axis CNC tool and cutter grinder in 1985.

Thirty years later, they’re still going strong, unveiling the all-new small-footprint Star NXT Tool Grinder. The modular machine has the ability to run small and large-diameter wheels, is easy to use, and best of all is easily configurable.

Tandem developed a new brochure for this highly capable tool grinder, integrating a large volume of technical information and renderings to create a cohesive, engaging collateral piece, bolstering Star Cutter’s marketing efforts.

bringing a human touch to this highly specialized industrial field.

Dairyland Electrical Industries approached us to create a set of illustrations for their feature in World Pipelines, aiming to showcase their technical products in a visually engaging way. Understanding the challenge of making industrial equipment interesting to a wide audience, we took on the project with a focus on blending clarity with artistic flair. Our goal was to avoid the typical hard-line, technical illustrations often seen in the industry and instead create something that was both visually appealing and easy to interpret for professionals in the field.

We worked closely with Dairyland to ensure the product renderings were representative and technically accurate, but with a touch of artistry that made them stand out. By situating the products in real-world environments—like pipeline installations—we illustrated how they function on-site, but kept the background elements rougher and more textured. This contrast drew attention to the products while maintaining an engaging, approachable feel. Dairyland’s trust in our creative vision allowed us to deliver illustrations that were informative and aesthetically dynamic, capturing the essence of their brand and product application in a unique way.
